Sun and big changes!

Hello everyone!

Well... there is both good and bad to this post but in the end I really think it is going to work out.

Basically, I have not had much time to draw or paint or do anything creative because I have been having issues regarding my studio and my landlord. In a nutshell, my landlord did a few things that breeched our lease agreement one including not providing the heat that should be provided when it is as cold as it is outside. After a few back and forth conversations it became apparent to me that she wasn't going to budge let alone even believe me how I never got heat. I decided it was not worth it to me to sit up there and feel awful about it and have my fibro and RA get worse because of this. MEH! Not worth it. So goodbye studio!! It was fun! I feel good about leaving, in a weird way it feels super good and the right decision. No second guesses.

Good part! I am leaving today to head down to Florida ( SUN SUNSUNSUNSUNSUN!)  so I can get some vitamin D and happiness. I packed my handy dandy nibs, ink, and sketchpad so I can work on stuff while i'm gone for a few weeks.  Unfortunately, due to all the commotion I have fallen behind on my 365 days of Creepy project but I am just going to do my best to keep trucking on it :)

I will not have my computer with me so I'll do my best to update my trip and all my doodles when I get back. Honestly, looking at the weather for Brattleboro for the rest of the week ( SNOW?!) I don't think i'm going to get back up here without some mental struggle. In all I am very happy with the way things are turning out despite the not so good stuff that will turn into good stuff in the end.

Also I decided that my sad fisherman painting I am going to be turning into a series of paintings with beards. Cheers!

I had such a busy weekend! I'm so glad I got this painting finished though before I go away on Wednesday! It makes me super happy for so many reasons... one being his mustache.. :) Oh and this is what happens to me when I paint. Mess.

Trees and Hills Comic Group!

I got a small comic published in the "Woods"edition of the Trees and Hills Comic Group comic magazine! It is the lastest of 10 they have published so far. It is a pretty great thing and it brings together very talented artists from the Vermont, New Hampshire, and Western Massachusetts area.

I need sleep.

I missed a week of posting because.. well.. I just did. It takes me awhile sometimes to get into the swing of things so I'm not too heartbroken about it. I drew but I still have to catch up a bit. The way I look at it is that even if I miss a day.. for god knows what crazy reason it still motivates me and gets me drawing the next day. No biggie.

I've been working on a mini halloween comic for Trees & Hills Group so I'll have that up soon.

I love when I spend hours on a drawing and it's coming out exactly how I pictured it in my head ( this rarely ever happens) and I'm just about done putting some finishing details on it then... I flipping smudge it!  I went to go erase something, not noticing that I got a spat of ink on the eraser I was using. *sigh!* I suppose the damage could of been worse but ARG!.

I fixed it and I still love it. Which is good. But DAMN.

HOLY SUNDAY!

I'm just going to cut to the chase here. I have been happily sitting in my studio listening to podcasts, with my peppermint tea, and drawing merrily. I finally got my Zombie drawing just about done and I decided to get up to stretch and to open some window and get some fresh Fall air. I look out the window and I make this god awful squeak noise ( kind of a mix between a small dog who just got stepped on and a teenage girl) and I ducked super fast like I just saw the biggest penis EVER.

Oh wait. I DID.

Porn is a lovely thing people, but when I expected a nice fall breeze I didn't mean for genitalia to be thrown in.

Zombie drawing of BF Tim. I really like how this came out but I don't think it looks like him much. I'm going to try again. Either way I really liked drawing this. Drawing zombies for me is great practice because I HATE drawing people. This makes it fun.

*actually now that I see on a computer I realized that his hair is too dark and I need to fix up sir beard. Blah. I'm just going to leave it.

the love child of cider and alcohol.

I'm sitting here in my studio listening to some Smodcast Jay and Silent Bob Get Old. I've got more art done listening to Kevin Smiths podcasts then I have in a very long time. I've felt so uninspired lately though. I've been getting these nauseous, "high feeling", fatigue, I'm going to pass out now spells for the past week or probably even longer... so  I just haven't been up to much. I told myself  ( like I do most days) that today is the day I'm going to sit and produce something. At this point I don't care too much what that something is.

I bought a  Fall Woodchuck Hard Cider ( oh hell yea), made sure there were batteries in my camera, took my bra off, and started to it. At a big ole 5% alcohol that little woodchuck did it's job.

I also started my 365 day project on doing a drawing  day for a year! Thanks to my friend Melody who bought me a book that gives you a different project to do each day for 365 days. Inspired by this, I decided to do 365 days of creations with the theme of "creepy". (whatever I decide that means) I should just draw a picture of myself for a year : )

I am having huge issues photographing my pictures so.. fuck it. I did my best.

Pa Pa Pa Progress!

Worked s'more on "Bear Boy" ( not the title)

I'm having such a hard time on his facial features.. I've must of redone them all more than a dozen times! This is close to what I want it to be but the nose is still not right! Another issue I'm having with this painting is the trees on plan on putting above his head. I'm having trouble positioning them so they don't look like they are stabbing out of his head.

I'm very happy with it so far.

I began the next one in the series but the past few days I just have been in a big ass funk. Artistic, physical and mental FUNK. I have this urge to go on an adventure so I might just do that. now.

Fuck you sir acrylic!

I'm getting sick of acrylics. I really like using them, but I can't do it all the time. Oh here!

Reasons why they piss me off :

-I have to change the water every half an hour! Grrr..

-Um.. expensive.
-It's messy! I love this but when I'm in OCD mode.. dear lord.

-sigh

-Basically.. it's not watercolor/pen and ink
